Contract: Army G2 ARIES

Position: Sr Engineer, Network – Network Engineer (L3)

Location: Shaw AFB, SC

GENERAL SUMMARY:

GDIT is seeking candidates to support the US Army G2. Under the Army Intelligence Information Technology Environment Support (ARIES) task order, the G2 supports numerous Army organizations providing mission critical intelligence tailored to the needs of Army senior leaders throughout the globe. The ability of these organizations to provide this needed intelligence is dependent on the availability and successful operation of their Information Technology (IT). The ARIES contract provides IT repair, maintenance, operations, logistics, engineering and cybersecurity services to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of the organization’s IT systems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Network Engineer will:

• Analyze user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop network requirements specifications

• Guide users in formulating requirements, offer alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies

• Analyze network requirements and capacity and lead design and development activities

• Provide technical leadership for the integration of network requirements, design, and technology

• Incorporate new network plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations

• Develop network architecture and network design documentation

• Guide network development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of network engineering management plans and network integration and test plans

• Design and perform integration of new technologies into local and wide area networks

• Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems

• Manage the transition and migration of networks and development of network addressing schemes

• Interact with the Government regarding network engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts

• Ensure technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the network engineering area of responsibility

• Communicate with other program personnel, Government overseers, and senior executives

Desirable Skills / Experience:

• Provide research and implementation of enterprise system-wide network solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives

• Evaluate and monitor health and performance of the network including hardware and management software

• Assist with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation of all network configuration upgrades, additions or revisions for customer approval before implementation

• Evaluate and recommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization and industry best practices

Certifications:

• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract

• Required Security Environment Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent

• Desired Computing Environment Certification: CCNP, or CCNP-Security

Security Clearance:

TS/SCI required

Additional Qualifications:

• Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract

• Applicants must be able to deploy to potential hazardous duty locations due to mission requirements. Candidates must be able to maintain compliance with the standards of fitness requirements at all times throughout the period of performance of the task order

Education

High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of related experience, or Associate’s Degree with 8 years of experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of experience, or Master’s Degree with 4 years of experience

Qualifications

5-8 years of directly related experience in network analysis and administration
