Job Summary

This role is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

Managing Material Availability that includes:

Maintaining proper stock levels. Requisitions - ordering material for stock, projects, safety, maintenance & other (SAP)

Managing Dominion system emergency pipe including - Hydro test & Mill Test Reports # Management of Surplus Material leftover from Jobs- - Marking or tagging material, determining material number, identifying purchase orders, pricing from PO's, completing surplus reports, etc.

Physical Handling of Material that includes:

Distribution of materials daily basis. Physical receipt & movement of material. Marking & tagging material when received. Tallying of pipe & recording heat numbers. Maintaining files of heat & mill test reports. Preparation of material for return to vendor. Determining scrap & obsolete material . Proper housekeeping & storage of material. Audits as required

Conduct SAP Transactions that includes:

Purchase order receipts - Issues, returns, & transfers of material (to/from stock, projects, and other companies) . Determining proper WBS. Returns to vendor. Scrapping material (O & M or Capital) . Monthly cycle counts & yearly physical inventories. Filing & retention period of paperwork- - Requisition forms, packing slips, transfers = 6 years. - Count sheets, differences reports, etc., = 2 years. Running required reports. Material requisitions.

Warehouse security to ensure materials leaving the warehouse are properly documented

Maintain working knowledge of supply chain management (SCM) & DCG warehouse policies & procedures

Establish communication & rapport with local field supervision, field workers, accounting/finance, purchasing, truck drivers, engineers, project managers

Utilize material/stock numbers when available on requisitions. Follow prescribed process to set up new number. Report surplus material, including PO number and stock number on surplus report and submitted to Materials Management.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience


  • Four (4) years of directly related experience

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills

  • Working knowledge of supply chain management (SCM) and warehouse policies & procedures

  • Working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) inventory requirements

  • Must have the ability to lift 50lbs

  • Must be able to work in a hot and cold warehouse environment


  • Prior experience with warehouse materials handling and transactions or experience working with natural gas transmission parts and components.

  • Forklift certification

  • SAP experience
