U.S. Bank Policy Governance Manager in Columbia, South Carolina

Do you enjoy being busy, working with a variety of people and multi-tasking? If so, consider joining the Risk and Policy Management Governance team in providing governance and oversight of policy management activities. You’ll work closely with policy owners and managers across the company to oversee the successful creation, implementation, and maintenance of policies within the Enterprise Policy Management (EPM) System while ensuring adherence with the Enterprise Policy Requirements. Some of the responsibilities of this role include:

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the Enterprise Policy Management Team in overseeing policy activities across all risk categories and through every phase of the policy management lifecycle

  • Provide training, guidance, credible challenge, and risk mitigations techniques to policy owners/managers pertaining to policy management activities

  • Document the identification of new policies, policy gaps, implementation activities, and policy exceptions

  • Oversee executive reporting and tracking process of policy inventory, implementation activities, policy exceptions, and other general policy activity

  • Leads and/or facilitates activities that ensure policy compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations

  • Establish and perform regular quality control reviews to ensure adherence to the Enterprise Policy Requirements

  • Ensures the active identification, response, and/or escalation of risks and issues, as appropriate

  • Builds and maintains effective partnerships between the Lines of Business and Lines of Defense

  • Facilitates regulatory examinations with the OCC, Federal Reserve, and other agencies as necessary


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Ten or more years of experience in an applicable risk management environment

  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office and SharePoint applications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven ability to work effectively with at all levels within an organization

  • Desire to create and own a process

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies

  • Previous experience in a policy management function preferred

  • Possess superior multi-tasking skills
