Position Title Inspector
United States of America - South Carolina
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Intermediate Inspector for immediate employment in the Columbia, SC office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Monitor conformance to quality, performance, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties
Performs daily field inspections
Maintains inspection records
Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning
Tracks quality assurance progress
Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnover
Inspects construction progress which may include ensuring procedures and materials comply with specifications
Observes work in progress to assure conformance with requirements and acceptable workmanship
Reviews contract plans and specifications for compliance with appropriate building codes and project requirements
Observation of work for compliance with contract documents
Reviewing and responding to shop drawing submittals
Responding to request for information, clarifications, proposals, and change orders
Assisting with review and reconciliation of construction schedules
Scheduling updates and contractor payments
Observe testing and review test results for conformance with technical specifications
Confirming quantities for pay applications
Assisting with verification of project completion milestones and contract closeout/commissioning
Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Works under general supervision
May assist with training entry level employees
High school diploma
5+ years inspection experience
AutoCAD Experience is a plus
Experience drafting civil design projects such as water or sewer lines utilizing AutoCAD
Experience with Health and Safety plans
