Job Description:

The Operations job family leads all of the business operations within a branch location or multiple branch locations within a defined geography and/or product group. General areas of responsibility include providing leadership for the organization's customer-facing

associates and branch functions. Positions in operations leadership are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization's branches, areas, and other geographic units and KOB groups.


Plans and establishes operational objectives for a team of support personnel within a clearly defined job area. Delivers operational results that have moderate impact on the achievement of departmental results. Assigns tasks to a team to achieve operational

targets, service standards, etc. Typically does not have budget or profit and loss accountability, but may manage day-to-day elements of the budget (e.g., overtime for staff).


Responsible for making adjustments or recommended enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of job area. Problems and issues faced are general, and may require understanding of broader set of issues. Problems may require understanding of other job areas. Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experiences, with analysis of the issue. May escalate complex problems to higher levels of management as appropriate.


 Manage the overall operation of a branch location including hiring, discipline, and scheduling of employees to ensure cost

effective and quality branch operations.

 Maintain inventories at adequate levels, promote sales, and maintain the appearance of the branch.

 Provide communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counseling, coaching, and disciplining associates.

 Lead associates, processes, and policies of the organization in order to profitably maintain and grow market share, sustain

customer loyalty, and provide opportunities for growth.

 Responsible for policy and strategy implementation.

 Implement business strategies to achieve profitable business relationships and identify new revenue opportunities with major


 Responsible for the daily maintenance of the location.

 Responsible for the execution of the counter strategy.

 Plan and control expenses of a branch location with profit and loss responsibility.

 Performs all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to all safety policies, rules, regulations and


 Participate in leadership meetings and represent associate concerns, policies and guidelines to the management team.

 Conduct regular associate meetings.

 Represent the organization to customers, associates and leadership as needed.


 Adhering to all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.

 Performing other duties or functions as requested by management.

 Manage local-level charitable contributions and liaise with strategic non-profit partners in conjunction with Corporate Social

Responsibility Team.


Has direct or indirect responsibility for the formal supervision of less than four (4) associates Has direct or indirect responsibility for

the first level of supervision of at least two (2) associates. Collaborates with next level management to recommend changes in job

status for associates. May document and record associate related actions in accordance with human resource policies. May monitor,

adjust and process associate time records to ensure timely submission of payroll records. Supports enterprise business and sales objectives through the effective and efficient management of a branch, department within a branch or headquarters sub-function or

department within the enterprise.



Seven (7) years of experience is preferred

Applies advanced knowledge and skills of a specific area with understanding of external

factors that may affect own area.

Provides expert advice, coaching and counseling within particular area.


Associate is expected to operate at the expert level across the following areas of technical knowledge and skill:

 Ability to organize and prioritize work.

 Ability to effectively communicate in writing.

 Ability to effectively communicate verbally.

 Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to groups.

 Ability to efficiently operate computers, tablets and mobile devices.

 Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).

 Ability to effectively utilize FEI's inventory and logistics system (Trilogie).

 Ability to interact cordially and professionally with others.

 Ability to multi-task and effectively manage through stressful situations.


 Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

 Requires giving and/or receiving verbal communication.

 Requires giving and/or receiving written communication.

 Requires using a computer keyboard and mouse to create letters, memoranda and reports.

 Requires sitting for extended periods.

 Requires standing for extended periods.

 Occasionally requires carrying objects that are less than 20 lbs using equipment.

 Occasionally requires carrying objects that are 50 lbs or more using equipment.



Role is classified as Non-Exempt and will receive compensation for hours worked in excess of relevant State and Federal standards.


Under normal circumstances it is expected that the core duties and responsibilities can be completed in scheduled workweek by a

fully qualified associate. Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory including arriving at the time scheduled by your

supervisor daily.
